Help us reach our goal:
This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to support the John Lewis Elementary School PSCO with a tax-deductible donation that directly benefits academic, cultural, and enrichment opportunities for our students. In light of this year’s DCPS budget shortfalls, our goal is to raise $15,000. Your donations will fund JLES’ annual March Around the World celebration, supplies for schoolwide enrichment Clusters, and other important programs that make our school community shine.
🔵🟠 MATCH ALERT! A JLES community member has generously offered to match up to $5,000 in Giving Tuesday donations. Help us meet this $5,000 match to benefit our students! 🔵🟠
More About What Your Donation Will Support:
Clusters are staff-created clubs that give students the chance to explore shared interests beyond traditional academics. Twice a year, every student selects a new cluster and joins peers across grade levels for engaging, weekly, hands-on learning.
During Cluster time, students dive into authentic, real-world skills—researching, designing, collaborating, performing, and creating products, performances, and art connected to their chosen interest. Popular clusters include chess, directed drawing, ribbon dancing, marble-maze engineering, obstacle-course building, cheer, flag football, and many more.
Each spring, JLES celebrates the diverse cultures within our community by inviting families to share their heritage through performances, crafts, art, and food.
Last year’s event featured displays representing more than 60 countries, live music and dance, henna artists, and incredible dishes from our International Café—one of the most beloved traditions at our school.
No donation is too small—every contribution makes a difference. And don’t forget to check whether your employer offers matching gifts to maximize your impact.
Thank you for supporting our students and helping keep these meaningful experiences thriving at JLES!
